I am Florence Koenderink, an independent consultant in child protection reform. I have a background in Cultural Anthropology and 18 years of experience in child protection and alternative care across four continents.
I am passionate about raising awareness about how trauma deeply affects dynamics within and between families, communities, and societies and how profound the ripple effects are. Both the negative ripples when nothing is done and positive ripples when people are supported to recognise and work through their trauma. I seek partnerships with practitioners and organisations interested in exploring what can be done with this, in a practical sense. In the meantime, I am making a start by advocating for and working towards a radical child protection reform that operates with a trauma lens.
More information about my work on child protection reform can be found at www.familybasedsolutions.org. Feel free to contact me at [email protected] if you are interested in partnering on getting beyond the trauma wall or are looking for technical advice, training, or guidance.
